The flag shown in the photo is one I have used at the top of more than one post. It is the flag presented to my Momma at the Memorial Service held in honor of my Daddy when he died at age 93...He loved this country and fought in WWI and a number of wars after that and shared his love for this country with us.
The words cited in the title of this post were used to honor those who have served in all wars.
It is inscribed on monuments throughout our country and possibly the world.
In some cases it is inscribed on monuments that focus on a single war, such as the Vietnam War, and on the soldiers of that war who died or who are still missing.
Billy Ray Cyrus presents a song that expresses feelings about our women and men who serve and have served.
